Our Beliefs

We believe in TECHNIQUE. With proper instruction, any child can learn correct technique and perform beautifully. We encourage each student’s natural love of movement while providing essential dance education and proper, safe technique training. Building self-discipline, developing strength and stamina, and achieving grace in movement is a process that should never end.

We believe in THE INDIVIDUAL. Every student benefits from quality dance training, even though he or she ultimately may choose another career path. In dance, students learn the cooperative teamwork necessary to produce a high quality work of art. They develop creative thinking skills and the ability to push themselves to higher achievements. These skills enhance a student’s academic performance as well as their physical well-being.

We believe in QUALITY TEACHING. Quality teaching is paying close attention to the student’s artistic development, their health and safety and their physical and emotional well-being. This extends beyond the walls of a dance studio. All classes are taught by professional, highly qualified faculty members. Class numbers are intentionally kept low so that each student receives individual attention. Teachers meet regularly to develop curriculum, share ideas and collaborate for the best interest of every student. Many teachers can pass along steps, but a truly experienced, trained teacher can guide a young performer through the gradual process of carefully training their body; helping them achieve an instrument that is technically strong with the capability of executing even the most rigorous exercises with grace and style.

We believe in HIGH EXPECTATIONS AND HARD WORK. Each of the teachers is dedicated to facilitating individual artistic development by providing a nurturing environment which inspires each dancer to their best effort and greatest accomplishments. We deeply care about each of our students and want them to do their very best. Which is why we demand a lot from them. ECDA endeavors to help students enjoy, cherish and treasure the hours devoted to their training, encouraging them to love the art of dance for the sheer pleasure and sense of artistic fulfillment. At ECDA, we aim to instill a love of dance so that one day our students will have a greater appreciation either as an artist or a patron.
